Most of the cleaning has already been done by the previous owner, Ive removed the exhaust and its mainly in that area that needs a bit of a clean.
I want to apply another coat of underseal over whats already there and then paint it, im not too keen on waxoiling it as it will be hard to keep clean. Do you think another coat of underseal will give it as much protection as waxoil?

personally think underseal is a waste of time waxoyl is far better 2 be honest underseal chips off and when moisture gets behind it and then the tin worm settles in and nasty things happen. clean off area treat any rust prep and paint and waxoyl job done theres many ways 2 paint underneath thats personal choice you could use a brush or a can or spray gun it all depends what you want it 2 look like m8

I cant stand underseal, I see it as a product used as a quick fix, your car isnt undersealed as standard, its stonechip, I agree with Glenn, just paint over the stonechip already there (If you want)... I did think about doing this to mine, but I would only want to waxoil it after, so it would be pointless... as you say it just collects the grime, try some black waxoyl, thats good shit, doesnt look as dirty with time...

I meant to say stonechip not underseal. Do you think stonechip will do the same as underseal and just chip off. The underneath of the car is excellent its only done 20k, I want to make sure its well protected but was hoping to stonechip it and then paint it body colour in base and lacquer so its all nice and shiny!

stonechip wont chip if applied properly, unless your taking it on a gravel stage m8 i would still apply waxoyl 4 where u cant see tho just have it nice and clean everywhere else and dont 4get 2 waxoyl all the chassis legs sills behind bumpers inside doors and quarter panels etc etc you want your car 2 last as long as possibly ive used about 6 litres in and around mine so far

Tan TBH, if the car has only done 20k, I would just base and laquer over the std stone chip, it'll take you forever to get the old stone chip off and stonechipping over the top of that aint the best thing to do IMO, least that way will be exactly as factory but in colour, have a look at my thread and stone chip the bits of sills / seams where the sills join the floor, it would appear Ford forgot that bit

Thanks for your advice guys. I've been cleaning the underside for the last 3 days and I thought the car was clean! oh well I guess I'll get there in the end.
