Default Bigger Intercooler on ST Escort Cossie

Hi all.
Been searching the forum with no joy really on the subject. Has anyone fitted a bigger aftermarket Intercooler to a St Escort, if so where there any benefits, it has GG 305 conversion on it. Just curious if it would offer any improvements, anyone done it?

Surely Airtec, Forge or spec R would do one? I know that the best cores are the garret bar but you wouldnt need that for 305 bhp necessarily. I think Spec R have the best but they are not cheap and I have heard of long lead times if not in stock.

I think you would only really notice anything if you monitored pre and post temps as it is now and then compared with a "better" cooler. You would only notice a performance gain if the car was suffering heat soak now or if the mapping was being compromised (i.e. the tuner holding the car back from full potential due to intake temps) - my car is being held back at the moment due to the RS500 style cooler that I have, a better one would allow more power. On a 300 bhp car mapped by someone decent like GG I highly doubt you would bolt on a new cooler and think "wow, that feels really different" but I could be wrong.

ACT'S do climb, and the ecu does reduce boost. For a squirt now and then, STD is ok, but for prolonged runs at full noise a bigger cooler will help.
