Default Aftermarket Intercooler with A/C.

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket/upgraded intercooler into their Escort that has factory air con fitted.

Default radtec in birmingham do this kit cheers

the coolant rad is bolted to the intercooler, and the intercooler bolts where the coolant rad used to bolt so everything moves closer towards the engine, and the aircon rad sits at the front of the intercooler cheers

Hello mark, I fitted a radtec intercooler for ac, the front panel needs cutting back by about 15 to 20mm, need to fabricate a new coolant pipe to bottom hose and need to re locate the Amal valve. It is not a 5 minute job.

The brackets that are welded to the intercooler on mine are angled out wards, it would'nt bolt up in the original radiator fixing points without hitting the engine so we had to use the holes in the chassis further forward so had to cut about 15mm of the front panel.

i had to remove about 6 or 7mm from the rear edge of the front crossmember when i fitted one to my old monte,didnt have to adapt any pipework though,that was yrs back and prob the earliet one fitted at the time,maybe theyve altered it since?

I bought one from rad tec last year fit perfect no cutting of mods needed
