Default Jct28 Escos - Anyone know any good?

Spotted an Imperial Blue Escos on their website - http://www.jct28.co.uk/frames/view-vehicles.htm. It's the one with the white team dynamics wheels. Just wondered, anyone seen it? Know if it's any good?

Cheers for any info guys!

mmmmmm, heard a lot of dodgy things about mileages and stuff, if you go, every car will have awaiting preparation on the screen, you buy one then they paint it

Hmmm, cheers Scott, all honest opinions greatly received, know what i'm like for jumping in feet first - want to make sure I get a good car. Looking elsewhere too, and plently of time yet.

alot of there cars have been bought from adds of the autotrader site then they slap a few 1000 on, they have a green monte up for 16,995 the last owner had it up for 13,500 so if your fast you can cut the middle man out

personally would never go back there again, when i was looking for my Escort, i phoned them up about one they had, they said it was "very good condition" travelled all the way down form Glasgow to look at it.
Tom put it nicely it was a heap of shite!! the amount of things i found wrong with it was enough for me, i never even bothered to drive it, just went home angry.

Not disputing that some people might have got a good car from there, but iv heard more bad than good about that place

Be careful!!

Called in today for a laugh as i was passing! The Blue one looks like it's been painted with a rattle can down the sides!!!!!!! the front end needed a repaint and wasnt far from 90k!!!!!!!!!! Total shed with non standard seats!
Looked at a K plate mallard one, engine bay was mint with all the polished bits etc.......but usual blistering spoiler, nice leather, but CLOTH center arm rest???? ...... again not presented especially for Ł17995!!!!!!!!!!

Think the '' JUNKYARD '' name continues!!!!!!

Bigpower - many many thanks - that's just what i feared from all the reports i'd read on PF - I would have travelled and looked at it too. Shame there's people like that that'll try and con the cash.

Thanks to the power of the PF network , i'll be searching elsewhere for a clean one! Cheers guys

Default jct28

I have to say that you maybe being a bit unfair to jct 28. I actually deal in classic cars and would like to put a couple of points forward:- First of all The people who are looking to purchase off jct28, have any of you asked what you actually get preparation wise,Have any of you asked to have the faults rectified within the screen price, plus don,t forget that although you are paying more money, you will also get a warranty within the price. Be warned it is not always best to buy privately, because if you blow the engine on the way home it is you who will be footing the bill, not so bad if you can do the work your self but expensive if you cant. You are also on dodgy ground talking about mileages not being correct unless you have proof that they are the ones who are "Clocking". The other point is that although their cars may seem expensive they will have to pay over VAT on any profit they make. I am not defending jct28 as Ihave never dealt with them but please ask the questions before you start slagging them off as they probably work very hard at what they do. It is very difficult to build up a good reputation and very easy to lose it Thanks a lot FREGO

Appreciate your point, Frego, initial post was only based on posts read previously in relation to people's first hand experiences with them - I personally just wanted to know if anyone had info on the car before I travelled 260 miles to look at it. However, no amount of screen price adjust should cover for substandard or repainted bodywork.

i traveled 200 miles to look at a s1 "mint" ffsh etc etc
when i got there it had overspray all over the battery, fusebox, heater, rear lights and the history consisted of 1 mot and the logbook !!!!!,with a price tag of Ł5999 i was expecting a mintter !!!!
my mate had to calm me down when i jumped over the counter and nearly knocked the blokes head off

nikh667, have just been discussing your post with the boyfriend (bigpower) and i would advise that you stay away from the imperial blue Cosworth that Junction 28 have in at present. I see that you are from Cornwall and it would be a very long way for you to go and waste your time. I understand that everyone's opinion is different regarding condition etc etc of cars, but i think most people would agree with us on this particular car. At the end of that day, escos's aren't cheap, it's not like your spending a couple of grand on something, so you want it to be right. For a car dealer to be presenting a car the way this one is (and most of them in my experiance) is a joke. My dad is a car dealer for under 10k cars and he wouldn't even let something stand on the front saying 'awaiting preparation' the way they do with car's that are ready to go! As soon as we saw the car in question we laughed, the front end looks like it's been machine gunned, and most of the car looks like stevie wonder's had a go at spraying it. This is just our opinion's, but after the trouble we've had finding the right car, we just wanted to save you time and money going to see this.

Many thanks for the honest information - very much appreciated. You'll be pleased to know I haven't been to see it, as soon as i had an idea it wasn't what it sounded i've left alone, and in the meantime, found myself a good clean genuine car - see here - https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...478&highlight= - was a private sale with a really helpful guy, and for a better price than the one at JCT - everyone's happy!!

Glad you found one, much better buying private imo, then you're buying from the person who has actually owned the car to see how it has been for them through out ownership etc.

Well done, bet you're very happy
