HELP!!! my idle is driving me mad
anyone help when i start my car first thing it struggles to idle once warms up it idles aroun 1300rpmive constantly pissed about with the idle valve screw under the inlet manifold.i know the car needs a set up as it runs quite rich but i dont think thats got anything to do with it.
also it does sound like it has an air leak but i cant find it but i noticed the same thing on my last series 1 so pretty sure they just sound like that.

if the revs are hihger it may well have an air leak mate. pressure test the system.. or spray water over the inlet etc whilst running and check for leaks. you should hear it hiss [air leak] has the boost dropped ? also the car may be running richer than normal and sucking more fuel in because its getting starved and fooled by the extra air. when you find the airleak your car should run better, the idle revs will drop down to normal and should be a bit better on fuel. YOU need to put the idle screw back where it was as your not fixing the problem.. your creating another!

thats what i thought ive messed around that much with it,when its cold its proper noisy the hissing but i cant find anything when its warm the hissing sounds like the charge carrier, ive had the car running and sprayed some brake fluid around all the pipes in the hopes the revs would rise when sucking in the fluid but nothing.is it a nig job to remove the inlet as i would take that off so i can inspect all pipes hoses and idle valve itself which is right down the back

illlook into leaky inlet gasket as it sounds to be that area,it doesnt smoke is the quietest cvh ive heard from cold just this idle issue was spot on when i bought it but always the way.ill take the inlet aprt and do gaskets
also i thought it may be dump valve but its a near new forge one but u have to cain the car to get any sound but it is running near standard bhp and i want that chavtastic dump valve off anyway so just bung it up will run better without
