Escos Track toy using 350bhp sr20det
Just some thoughts that have been running around in my head and thought i would share it with you guys.
Currently looking for an escos shell to build a track car and have had all sorts of cossies over the years and if iknow one thing they aint that reliable when used as i intend to use it and are damn expensive to keep.
Anyway a friend has got a 350bhp 200sx s14 he`s just smashed up and now im thinking this:
Escos with all WRC exterior, caged, buckets etc on 18 mo's with the running gear from the 200sx with the intention of more bhp laters. RWD obviously.
Now i know its the whole jap/ford thing but i love escort cossies but want to be able to properly use it without waiting for it to go bang and cost fortunes.
What do you guys think????????????????

Engine and gearbox is easy apart from the sump. SR20 has a front end sump. Suspension is a a different thing. The rear axle wil not be easy to fit as the front mounts will hit the chassis.

What a result!!!!!!!!!! My shell arrives next week.
Escos rolling shell on 2wd running gear with windows & doors and not 1 bit of rust anywhere.
Looking for any info anyone has on fitting the sr20det nissan 200sx running gear as it will be new to me. Im hoping someone on here must have done one or been involved at least with this kind of thing before.
Its gonna be along project as i want it as clean as possible, painted inside out and all powdercoated etc.
I will be adding pics along the way.

Not sure about the SR20, but I've seen an RB25 RWD one in Performance Ford not that long ago, looked a tidy conversion!
How tuneable are the SR's?

Slowley Underway
Well its finally in the garage and im made up with it, it hasn't got 1 patch of rust and never had any action and i parted with a grand for it
I have bought a few bits for it, Like ya do!
Got some speedline corse 18s off ebay for £150 as the guy advertised them without much detail and i stumbled across them. He also wasn't sure about the offset but guess what they came of an escos
Finished sripping it out now so its just a bare shell.
Just about to order rollover jig so i can get painting. Its mallard green at present but is probably going imperial blue or maybe nissan bayside blue.
I do have a few pics and will get them up asap.
