can somebody explain why i have seen escort cosworths with funny registrations like fmc 11v etc i have seen them on vids etc

i have seen a few also there is 1 for breaking at an rs breakers and i thought it was a wierd registration

Ford went through a couple of phases using FMC plates, in the early 90s with the Saph rally cars, then again in the late nineties with Escort WRCs and F2 cars, and with the early Focus.

i just did a hpi check on fmc 111v and it came back as no police record of that vehicle
