if it is running 305set up, the std t25 should be good for that spec, shouldn't be burning out turbo's the rate your are think you should get someone to look at it for you may simpley just need setting up.
you might want to check the oil lines to the turbo make sure there's no sworf in the lines causing it to fail. which oil are you running in it ? when your are running the car take it you let it warm up and and warm down properly etc not telling you how to suck eggs might also be worth getting a uprated t25 or a t34 turbo with 360dec and stronger shaft also a turbo cooler from airtec might also help make the turbo last a bit longer might also be worth giving stu and msd a shout !!

im just wondering tho because of the low compresion pistons the turbo is having to work harder to fill the amont of volume of air, i think the oil i had was from ford, 5w / 30, i would have to check, what oil would you recommend?

has your turbo got the bigger comp wheel fitted this may help as will not have to work as hard [the size is the same as a 4x4 coss wheel]

should not be running it on 5w30 !! to thin a oil for it
should be 5w40 or 15w40 if it is the std turbo should be running a t25 not t28 less been upgraded dont think running lower comp pistons would make much of a difference to the turbo just alouds you to run slight more boost etc surgest you change the oil check all the oil lines to the turbo (make sure no bits of metal or debree in the line cos it wont last long if there is) and get the car set up properly and like mentioned by wilky get the turbo spec by turbo specialist and give it the once over and upgrade any parts if nessacessary (sorry bout the spelling ) why dont you have a chat to stu at motorsport developments see if he can guide you www.motorsport-developments.co.uk or 1253 508400 blackpool

I run 10w50 in my ST Escort Cos (50K on the clock), even from new the Escort Cos should run 5w50.
I wouldn't spend any more money on it until you've spoken to a trusted tuner as you'll just throw good money after bad if you don't. Better to go through the spec that you have with Stu as mentioned & see what he suggests you do. |

also i think you may have a problem with you down pipe i'am sure the pitch of the three bolts are different [4x4 may be a bit wider or the other way around i did have to machine
some before but was ages ago] i have a t3 exhaust and t25 here i'll have a quike look and i have a bigger comp wheel in a t25 i'll get some pics

Wouldnt put a T3 on a low compression build, regardless of GGR 305, they were designed for completely standard engines..... Time to change to W/M management IMO.........., agree with liam, too many gasses with not enough fuel/ A/F ratio........... Bigger turbo will only make it worse............ EEC spot on for that yeras engine/blower.....GGR305 fine if standard

i kno i will prob get a big f@#k off, and tell me dont be stupid, but what if you put a big enough resistor in the air temp sensor, to mimic the air temp as 'cold as f'#k' so that the car will fuel more and with the t3 turbo suppling more air to my lowp comp engine as an easy temporary fix, untill i drum up enough cash for an ecu change? just a thought.... :-s

Why don't you ask MSD how much to tune your car? It'll be easier than an ecu swap and could be cheaper. |

why was it rebuilt as low comp? I suppose more power was planned but never carried out. Should of been left as standard.
Do you know what boost your car is peaking and holding? |

ill prob give msd a ring, but i didnt think they can tune the small turbo's, thats why many carry out ecu changes, yeah the work to the engine was done before i bought the car incase in future it was decided to go big turbo, but i think it would have been better to leave standard.

I posted up that MSD could borrow my car in desperation to move this forward, but got no response. Very frustrating for us small turbo owners - hanging on the promise of this for so long :-(

My concern is that Will's new engine is quite different now and that's shifted the the goal away from what most people are looking for; i.e. T34 on LT ex. manifold with injectors to suit.

Surely it can't be too much work to replicate what has been done so far onto another car and then finish it off? You've got to be able to reproduce it surely in order to sell it?
It looks like Will has got insufficient spare time available to get this sorted, - we've been waiting years for this. How much longer are you prepared to give him before allowing someone else to step in? Cheers Mark
