Default MIS Magnesium Inlet Manifold

Hello, my first post here!

I’m after more information on this inlet manifold. Other than being bloody expensive and used on stupidly powerful Cossys does anyone have any real information? After lots of asking around I’m still no closer to obtaining one. Infact, most people haven’t seen on in the flesh yet. What’s going on? Why are these hard to get? Please could you answer my following questions?

Are these still being made?
Who makes them?
Where do I buy one from?
Anyone trying to get shot of one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

but i may not be able to warrant the cost tho.

Kelv, true, I suppose if its a big money car, another couple of K on an inlet doesnt really matter.

and they just look SSSOOOOO good, it really is the ultimate in YB engine fashion!

they do look the dogs danglies Chipper

it will all depend on price, as you say its easy to spend 'just' another couple of K, but it soon adds up quickly.

by the time its on the road/useable im going to be rapidly aproaching 50k that ive spent on it since its been off the road

(i need counselling!)

The genuine MIS is no longer made.
I got mine from a Norwegian rallycross escort.

Mr Martin schanke, the rallycrossdriver from Norway, can get new, reproduced inlets, made from the same equipment that MIS used before. I bought one of him, before i got a hold of the genuine one. The price was about £2500.

The gold one is the one Martin can/could get.

If you want, i can call him, and see if its still possible to get them.

Out of curiousity, why did you buy a genuine one, when you already had the copy that Martin produced?

its just a better finish on the metal, but that would be quickly remedied when powercoated.

Because the black genuine one would fit my plans for the enginebay better.

They are not powdercoated. They have been in a bath to get the color, dont know the English word for it.

I'd be up for that!!! How far is birmingham from Derby though for a daily commute?

Currently doing around 50mile a day commuting to work (Denis Welch motorsport) but would much rather be working on more modern stuff for a living.......saying that, working on a million quids worth of Aston race car has it's moments in my current daily routine
