the helicoil must not have been done correctly mate as it would never have come out if it had of been, but bad luck on the valves pal.

Are you sure it's a helicoil and not just the aluminium thread that have pulled out of the head?

Helicoils are hard steel and don't just fall out unless badly done, as Mark stated.

inlet valves are $29.14 each &
Exhaust valves are$47.36 each on the coswort.com shop

If you put that into pounds its blooooody expensive.

Best bet might be to contact the breakers, look for scrap heads to buy valves from, ebay etc...

Good luck, feel for you mate.

Cheers
Dan

i had the same problem blaming sh1te helicoils on my cam shaft journal studs....

the helicoil is on the right by tghe way, the bit on the left is the stripped ali threat that came out most of the exhaust side studs, looks just like a helcoil,

and as said above, a correctly fitted heli coil is actually much much stonger than the original taped hole

If that helicoil was fitted to your car, it wasn`t done correctly. It is important that the tang is removed after fitting.

Only use Timeserts - far far better than helicoils

I just had my cylinder head overhauled.

8 new exhaust valves (the inlet valves were perfect)
16 new guides
16 new seals
Face skimmed a couple of thou

Cost about £450 in total to make it like new again
