Default ST help please

can anyone with a small turbo escort cosworth, pls tell me where their boost gauge sits on tick over? As I think I have a problem with mine, because when its on tick over its sitting at the very bottom of the gauge.

Did I say it was showing boost on tick over
What I said was, the gauge is sitting on the bump stop at the very bottom, when the car is on tick over!

it does move when i drive, but it seems as if its trying
to pass the bump stop on the bottom of the gauge when
on tick over,i though that on tick over the gauge use to
sit about half way between bottom and zero on the gauge,
just looks as if the needle is going to bend,,

does it sit at 0 when the engine is stopped? if it does, this is correct.

and it should pull down to nearly the bump stop (depending whether it has any air leaks or a aftermarket dump valve etc) when running at idle or on the overrun.

ok thanks mate
it does sit on 0 when the engine is off,and it sit's on the bump stop
when car is on tick over,it does not have any aftermarket dump valve
and i have just fitted a brand new t28 not a recon, the problem is it seems
to have developed a surge when driving and the needle seems to take
a lot longer to climb up the gauge.......

mine rests on the'' bump stop'' at tick over then climbs towards boost easily then on to boost then moves like a rev counter does(very freely) -you know you can drive around all day not using the boost!!!!!!!!if you wish-dont push the engine.
ive also got a dumper on mine at the fuel end as against the air intake end.
-no lag -just pulls+pulls+pulls (AS IT SHOULD)
