Default 18" wheels & Konis.

Has anyone else had an issue with running 18" alloys with an offset of ET25 with a koni suspension kit ? Since fitting mine I've found that the wheels foul the Spring cups & even with gentle persuasion with a large hammer they still won't fit correctly.

Has anyone elses come across this & how did you get around it.
Thanks for any help.

What tyres are you running?

Even with 225/40s you have to do this to the spring cups:

If you're running bigger tyres, then I don't think you will get them to fit. This is why we run ET15 offset....

you really need et of 18 ,and then theyre really close with 225/40 even when modded,if you have et 25 i dont think you will get clearance at all without using some small spacers or coil overs

I tried a 5mm space but it doesn't leave much of the hub left for the wheel to sit on. I've tried a friends wheel & that fits ok after a bit of modding to the spring cup & there Et18.

I caren't believe Koni caren't get this right from the factory. You'd expect Et25 downwards would fit without fouling.

you must have at least 15 mm thick spacers then to do it this way

i am currently running a set of 215/45/17's on an ET45 offset that clear the struts (escos struts and 2wd hubs) yet i needed spacers for the rears but not the fronts

all bolted to a sierra with just a few arch rubbing issues

expected?

or not?

does this problem only happen with 18" wheels and konis? I was going to go for 17" wheels but have just been offered a set of 18" OZ Super Ts.

Cheers

If you have ET25 yes. Even with ET18 I had to modify the spring cups with a large hammer.
