Default escos not running right

My mate has a big turbo escos and he is having a drama with it at the moment, he has told me over the phone that it gets to 1500 rpm the just seems to not rev and splutter the more he puts the throttle down, but as he lets off it comes good again at about 1500rpm. he has changed various sensors on the engine, but to no avail his last option is to change out the ECU it is a P8 i have a big turbo escos as well and i have a P8 in it my engine has had some mods done to it. My car is running fine so i have offered to lend it to him so he can change out the ECU and try and get it fixed once and for all. Would this be of benifit to him? also have any of you had a simmilar or the same problem and what did you find was the fault. Thanks in advance. It is at an auto electricians place at the moment who has some knowledge of cosworths, and they have put a fuel flow and pressure meter on it and all seems ok. changed the 3 bar MAP sensor, and that does not cure it, changed out the TPS now, but havent driven the car yet, also already changed out the multi plug engine wiring connectors. ANY HELP.

if it is still on the standard spark system then this could be somthing as simple as to much boost and its blowing the spark out. try checking the spark plug gaps or turning the boost down.

Has the ecu not gone into limp mode if it won't rev over 1500rpm.

I'm pretty sure if its in limp mode it won't let the car rev over 1500rpm to protect the engine. It says in the book you should take it to your nearest ford garage. You could unplug the ecu in the passenger footwell for 10mins then plug it back in to reset it Hopefully.
