id say the same.

that needs one hell of a lot of work, and for what it is its not really that cheap anyway.
unless you manage to source a heavily damaged or written off car cheaply to act as a doner vehicle, and you work in a body shop to keep costs down aswell

i wouldnt.you have to think of what it will cost to sort and then also think of selling it on.when people know its had the work it has it can put people off of a car like that unless its round 8k.but it will cost you more than that to sort her out.

Id wait until you can afford a half decent one. Unless as said above you have loads of the bits anyway and know someone in the trade to paint it for you.

Youll be looking at about Ł3k for the engine and a few grand for the re-spray so thats about Ł10k before you even start with the little bits and pieces.

Then even when it is all done, it will still have a history and most people will spot that its had panals.

Looks like thats a no then Thanks for the replys

I did have a chance of buying a rolling shell, with half an engine (bottom only) front diff, box etc etc, but by the time i got time of work to go see it, it was sold, Also it did'nt have ID? would i have to get done from DVLA?

Buying an old rally shell this the only option for me at the mo

A mate has still got his old running gear out of his RWD saff. stage 3 on a 205block, so i would drop that in.... Rear Wheel fun

Sunny - what kind of spec Escos would you like to end up with, if a rally shell suits you then that may be a way forward.

but an Escos isnt just for Christmas, its for life, so make sure you make your choices and decisions carefully.

you dont want to end up with a dog or a car that requires alot of work just so you can use it - especially if youve always wanted one.

clutching at straws just for ownership isnt necesarily the way forward

I paid Ł6000 for my EsCos and it came with no engine, box, diffs or clocks It did come with a very straight body, leather interior and some super pikey 13 inch steel wheels
