Default 10" rear wheels on an Escos with pics

As YUM has some 8.5" fronts and 10" rears on order I thought it might be worth checking how much arch work he needs to do on the rear. Doug's car was on the lift so I bolted one on ....

As you can see they fit ok

would a 6 degree rear beam that corrects camber/toe mean that the 10" wheels wouldn't fit? As I seem to remember that Zoo's beam meant that you couldn't run 18" wheels on a saff? Just wondering if it would cause the same issues on an escort?

Dave going by how close my 9x18 are with 245/40's i recon they will need work unless you want to run the rear suspension rock hard. Think they would catch under a hard launch when the suspension is loaded.

I have a car in the workshop that I can check this on but moving the arches outwards by 13mm is quite easy..

Thats proper width Martin but with your power you will need it

Did you get a chance to sort a price for that gearbox ?

One day Martin, Im gonna come up and see what the widest rim I can have on my GTiR... That looks

Question though, does running different size tyres affect anything on Diffs, front one mainly

the difference in profiles (35's/40's) should bring the rolling ratios back to near enough not to bother the centre VC too much I would imagine.

The tyres might be different widths but that doesn't matter, they are almost the same height wise which does matter on a 4x4

I run 225/40/18's front and 255/35/18's on the rear, which have the same rolling diameter with most tyre manufacturers.

The red Escort normally wears old style MOs, Martin only fitted the wide new MO on the back to see if they fitted...
