2wd rear beam + diff on a 4wd car
What do I need to fit a 2wd rear beem to an escort cosworth? --> does it work with the std. prop shaft?
I've a complete 2wd rear axle here and i'm thinking about upgrading my escort...

it is almost certainly a 7 inch diff you've got there so you will not be able to use it in the 7.5 inch casing as it's all wrong
what you might be able to do it use the output flanges from the 7.5 inch in the 3.92 diff and then just use a small spacer to bolt up the diff to the beam (which works all the time)

But surely thats alot of hard work fitting the 2wd rear beam just to still use the smaller 4x4 7" diff!
all that swapping and changing of the beam and output flanges etc, and then still using the 4x4 diff which is now mounted with spacers! the only real benefit after all that work is stronger flanges and driveshafts, when all it see's is 60% of the power anyway!

i'm using a GT30R + 2,4L crank... so i need a quite good drivetrain... 
-> have a strait cut gearbox + "thin" front prop shaft (I think it's a group a item) + a "weldet" front dif --> more or less like a thick wall diff... lot af aluminium weldet on...
