Attn all carbon splitter escos,s
I have got my carbon fibre splitter and hockey sticks from Creative carbon after waiting 2 mths, and found that both don,t fit! The profile of the hockey sticks does not fit the bumper ends, and if you use the pre drilled holes on the splitter to fit to the bottom of the bumper that also does not fit correctly. So what i want to know is if you have fitted these how much if any rework did you do to get them to fit?
Any and all help would be great as you can imagine i ain,t to happy at the mo!!
Cheers guys.

Send it back, if its not exactly what you wanted or expected to receive then you have a valid arguement.
and the fact that it doesnt fit is a bit unfair.
Give Marcus a call and explain the situation because id be the same as yourself and not to happy at buying something just over £300 to find it doesnt fit when its supposed to

I thought at first mine didn't fit as the profile looked different when i offered it up, i took my bumper off and worked from the edges inwards when fitting the bolts it then fitted fine.

I got the bumper off but they were no where near. Also did you have to drill your own holes for the stone deflector to be fitted to the splitter i,m using my original one?
And were you able to use the predrilled holes that are put in the splitter for it to fit to the underneath of the bumper, cos when i line mine up the splitter does not follow the profile of the bumper? Any help PLEASE.

2 months -you were lucky!!(I waited about 4)
Pre drilled holes -you were lucky(I drilled all my own)
Didn't fit-unlucky!!!!!
Whilst Marcus's work is the best I've ever seen, his buisness sense isn't

Thinking back i might have fitted the hockey sticks first then fitted the splitter to it (so it slotted into each end properly) I didn't grind any of the hockey sticks away.

havnt had mine long, this sounds familiar mate i had exactly the same problem, when you offer the stone deflector up to the bumper the pre drilled holes were miles away i just drilled mine bigger and made it fit myself as for the hicky sticks the drivers side fitted ok but the passenger side was tight as hell,i had to apply quite a bit of pressure to line the screws up and thought it was going to snap in half but managed it in the end.
did piss me off at the time as i drove a 300+ mile round trip to collect them to find they didnt fit perfect but couldnt be arsed to wait another 10years lol.....

had no problems what so ever fitting mine and was a perfect fit.(not to sure about this but you say you started from the out side and worked inwards) was told by mike rainbird this is not the way to fit them and the centre of the splitter should be fitted first and you have to work outwards. hope you get it all soreted as im sure they are all made from the same mould and all pre drilled holes will be done to some sort of template.

You MUST start by mounting the MIDDLE of the stone deflector FIRST and then working outwards. You will then find it fits perfectly.
IF you start from the outside and work in, you will find that the rigidity of the deflector by the time you get to the middle will mean that the holes will not line up by a few mm.
I now put these instructions on the invoice to avoid any irrate phone calls .
