How hard would it be to fit a B&M Quickshift to the car from inside the car as i dont fancy dropping the gearbox.

I would have said it would be fairly difficult, but not impossible

How hard is it?! Nigh on impossible!!

Drop the back of the box down and you can just about get in and remove the gear change cradle bolts.

its a bastard!!!!! but not impossible though!!- you need hands of a two year old!!and to get that rubber protector back on in one piece!!!!!!! is not short of a miracle.i did mine on my own(neaded somone in the car really to hold and push down on lever but struggled) will never ever do one again---not a lot of room even with cradle removed-but have a go-lol

Not according to Mike R Paul....... As you can only change as fast as the Syncro's allow you too

Yes mate, just to elaborate from what i recall......

As it makes YOU try to change quicker than the syncromesh allows = CRUNCH!

But then Mike R also says his little mod helps with the throw, and adding the solid bushes Martin sells!!

You may recognise them sentences paul!

Not really, they take a lot of slop out of the linkage but they don't like to be rushed.

Thats cause you smell of fish!!

Have a bath & maybe you wont be single! (oh and before you start, i'm managed to keep my missus happy for 10 yrs now! ).

Anyway back on subject!

After going out in pauls last night, i was shocked to see how much travel / play there is in the gearstick throw!!

My recommendations for this would be to fit the solid cradle bush mounts from Martin - http://reyland.co.uk/Details.asp?ProductID=112

And this off of Mike Rainbird - http://www.randbmotorsport.co.uk/sho...?ProductID=340

Reckon that would sort it out a treat! (without the added cost of crunch gearchanges!!).

Ps - And thats still cheaper than the B&M quickshift!
