Default Brake problem on Escort Cosworth

Hi,
I have had a problem with my brakes, the electric motor that pressures the accumulator packed up and I lost my brakes. I have replaced the pump and tried to bleed the system.

The problems….

The pump does not cut off, presumably it can not build up pressure due to air in the system?

I have tried to bleed the system, the front bleeds ok, but when we open the bleed valve of the back brakes, the pedal still wont go down. The pedal stays at the top and is rock hard, no fluid or air comes out, with the ignition on or off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gavin

I assume there is no pressure as the electric motor does not turn off.

It could be the distribution block stuck closed for the rear, or the ABS ecu is faulty and telling the block to stay shut.

I think it needs to go in to a garage to be sorted, just wondered if any one else has had this?

I had this problem...

was a fuse near the ABS unit behind the dash.

The ABS ecu on an Escort is in the boot.

there are several fuse, which I have checked, and also there are 3 relays, but I am not sure how to check these.
