ford wipac immobiliser - removal/renewal/replacement
Hello All
Enjoyed the sunshine today and driving my car again
i went to the local retail park to do some shopping when i came back to the car it wouldnt start. I immediately thought the fuel cut off switch had gone again so checked that and that was fine, had a look in the immobiliser slot and there laying at the bottom was a piece of one of the 3 contacts, the one to the red wire............Oh shit!!!!! stranded 3 miles from home Anyway a quick call to my dad who arrived in minutes with the soldering iron and sorted the problem there and then on the retail car park but it would appear on removing the wipac module that the same thing must have happened previously as the brown wire had been soldered into place. Im so so glad that it went today rather than at a petrol pump or in 3 weeks time stuck at Sanata Pod !!!! Anyhow im confident that my dads work will be reliable for the foreseable future but im looking into changing this for either a new module with healthy looking contacts or removal and replacement with a new immobiliser completely. I am quite sure though that my alarm a Toad Ai606 has an immobiliser built in?????
What would you guys do?? rip it out?? if so replace it with what??
I would like to keep it as its another thing to get past should any scum bag have a go!! does anybody have a module and new fobs they would like to part with?????
As always many thanks!
Martin
