Default Low fuel level light

When the low fuel level light comes on where abouts is your fuel level gauge needle?

Its on the bottom right of the dash display, You won't see it unless its lit up. Turn on your ignition without starting the car and it should light up for a second if not the bulb is gone. Mine don't come on till the needle is a quarter of an inch below the red!! I'll have to change the set up in the tank i think.

Ive never let mine come on either so wouldnt know mate. Ive always thought it was bad to let it run low, especially on older cars.

Ok thats cool thanks guys!

The light comes on when there is 8 litres of petrol left (the reserve) according to the Cosworth handbook.

I just wanted to know as I have no Fuel gauge anymore but I do have the petrol light, which is good so I can calibrate the stack fuel level now.. just got to wait untill it come on now

8L of fuel, assuming the float is not submerged and works

ive found that in between half and quarter tank if your conering very hard on full chat it starts to backfire, been told its because of the pumps position in the tank. wouldny worry about leaving as little as possible in the tank when leaving it parked up. lets face it if its half full they aint gonna get far anyway

It's supposed to come on at 5 or 8 litres - I can't remember which. All I try and remember is to count down the miles from 25 once its lit and find a petrol station before I reach zero!
