That is correct, the original ones are rose jointed. If you put in poly ones, you will get horrendous vibrations transmitted into the car (bad enough so that at certain speeds you won't be able to see out of the rear view mirror ).

I have poly everywhere as I did on my last sierra(xr4i) and the one before that(2.0gl), currently a cossie all polied up I get NO VIBRATION AT ANY SPEED ANYWHERE, not a sausage, and neither did I on any other of mine.
My dad xr4i(4litre V8) also poly everywhere and no vibration anywhere.
I regularly do 135+ and still none.
Still can't figure why a POLY bush COULD transmit more vibration than a metal one ?, maybe that's why all engine mounts are metal as they transmit less vibration ?

I'm not familiar with those cars, so don't know if they share the same rose joints as the Cossies, but can only report what I have found and you will also find that all the Cossie tuners say the same thing....

stick with the rose joint, ford spent alot of time developing those and your alot better of replacing them as origonal than going the poly route!

not saying it is gospel mate.

but you will be daft to move away from the standard joints/bush setup on the trailing arms to go for poly.

if you are insistant on changing away from origonal then go for nylon and not poly, they will do a much better job of holding the trailings as they should be than poly will ever do.
