hi, i have just bought a small turbo escort cosworth and have heard about snaping keys so without forcing it which way does it open and is it just turning it? as mine turns right a bit but i dont want to put anymore pressure on it if its the wrong way!

and i think the barrel is broken as it does not turn? so how would i go about getting it off? ripping it off the only way?

thought the small turbo cars have a flap.

thing a bit of force is needed, have to lever it off,but make sure the area around the lock is protected.

they have a flap and a cap under it but im sure its broken but the seller is coming round later and if he gets it off i will be so

and do you mean lever it off with the key in it or not? or do you know another way to get them off

could spray lots of wd40 in the lock to see if it frees up.

a big screwdriver will lever it off.

Dave : My small turbo has a cap not a flap and big mirrors not small ones....probably because its a late 94 early ST

ah ha its fixed now the last owner came 30 miles here to sort it i need a new barrel but i expected that but now at least i can fill up

I changed my barrel today in the fuel cap mate. Its a bit of a fidgety job but youl get there in the end.

The barrel costs 26 quid from ford
