Default Escos Gear Stick Turning ?? OH BUGGER !! 17.02.07

Help !!!!!!!!! Gettin on my nerves now

Ever Since i have had the escos, I have had a prob with the gear stick
spining, i thought at first it was the gear knob, but it wont come off

Plus i dont know how it comes off ..lol..

But i noticed today it looks like the gear stick is spinning and now the pull
up reverse tab wont engage, prob my fault for playing with it..

Do i need to take the gear/cowling out to get to the selector ??

Help ,Need to get it sorted out

the stick slides onto the gearbox lever and then a pin is put in to stop the stick comming off.

that must be worn or fallen out for the stick to turn.

Can I get to the bottom of the gear stick without removing the consule around the gear stick ??

Is the gaitor and centre consule all one ??

I think u'll have to remove the console, the gaiter on mine is connected to the console

how do you get the gear knob off is it push fit or screw thread?

if you have tried to screw it off then you have fooked it.

they pull off.

you can buy new ones for around £15.

no i have not tried to screw it off luckilly, only the gearstick gator has broken about 3 of the 4 clips that hold it to the console so i wanted to take the knob off and fix it somehow, on e bay they sell screw ones and push on ones so i just wanted to know which one mine was. are they different on BT and ST cars? i did not want to pull it off and brake it.

BT was push fit.... n i think most if not all ST were screw on's.

I don't think it's a quick shift kit, but the stick has been replaced along with the nob, anyone has any idea?

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!

On removal of the centre cowling i have found this..



Its appears the cable that pulls up the reverse gear has snapped

How do you remove the goldy lookin part to access and fit a new cable ??

yup knock the roll pin out and it then pulls off as one, ford used to sell them at about 70 quid, dunno if they still have any tho

yes ford sell both types, when I replaced mine on my old 4x4 saph I got ascrew one so had to change the knob aswell
