Default Water injection ??

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of fitting water injection to my small turbo cossie...

It has alread been modified to stage1 spec plus hybrid turbo but I want to keep the original intercooler and a/c.

Anyone got any advice or experience with water injection?? and do you notice any difference in air temps

Is ERL the only manufacture of water injection pumps/kits or are there others??

I have Aquamist on mine. It was on the car when i bought it so cant really say whether its made a difference. At the end of the day though anything that lowers the temps in there can only be a good thing.

By the way, radtec do an alloy radiator and intercooler kit which retains the aircon. Its about £650 including slim fans.

Trying to keep that standard look.I can hide the pump and disguise the pipework with some black rubber tubing over it

Why not fit the LT model charge-cooler set up and then a stand alone cooling system for this at a later date if required, as the ST one is same as a 4x4?

As it so happens I have a MINT second hand one for sale (see my website under second hand parts) .

I was going to suggest what Mike's said too, electric water pumps are quite cheap so go for a separately plumbed setup.

I was thinking about the big turbo intercooler/charge cooler and most of the people I spoke to said there was little to be gained by fitting this, even with the stand alone water rad.

Has anyone got any comparison figures between the small and big turbo intercoolers

I remember reading an old magazine article where Mark Shead fitting a separate radiator and pump to a BT Escort and IIRC there was quite a drop in inlet temps.

The ST cos has a ACT sensor screwed into the intercooler an the out side and the LT cos has it mounted on the inlet manifold. So if I was to fit LT intercooler can I use the threaded hole for installing water injection or is it the wrong thread. In that case do I have to start drilling and tapping the intercooler to mount the ACT sensor?

You would obviously have to mount this in a similar way .
