How much did you pay for yours?
Evening all,
I'm advertising an Escort Cosworth on ebay at the moment and when I'm turning down offers I keep getting emails telling me that their mate bought a better one with less miles blah blah for £10k.
Where are all these mint, HPI clear, FSH, late cars that are only £10k? Has anyone on here been lucky enough to find one?
I know it can be a bit of a personal thing, but if people don't mind can they post what they actually paid for their cars and when to see what money Escos's really make?
Cheers,
Bryn.

Hi mate
Good luck with the sale on your car. I personally dont wish to say how much i paid for mine but will say that it was considerably more than youre selling yours for.

My first escort cossie - a black one owner example with 64k on the clock cost me just shy of 14k about 6 years ago.
my current green escort was a lucky deal, parted with about £7,250 for it, the guy had it up for sale, i viewed it - then the following day he blew up the engine and then contacted me saying make an offer as he had lost all interest in the car!

i paid just under 15k for mine about 14 months ago with 67k... had stg 2 small turbo conversion needed a few tweeks tdue to a dodgy owner somewhere but overall i got a good deal ....
has AP brakes now and a MAD conversion with plenty more to come ... think these days prices range from 10k right up to 20k+ ...

I got mine with 21,000 miles on the clock, fsh, completely standard, in near perfect condition from a true enthusiast RS fan for £15,600 about 6 years ago-looking back it may have been somewhat of a bargain
I would certainly want much more for it now

I Paid £16,500 in 2001 for a Standard Imperial blue 1995 ST with 32K on the clock, FSH, Original bill of sale, old MOT's etc.It had 3 previous owners & on a private plate worth £1000.
It was the going rate at the time, so you pay what you think its worth & this one was on my door step so no need to travel the country waisting my time looking at sheds.
As others have said, only sell it for what your happy to let it go for. Don't let the tyre kickers tell you otherwise.Everyone wants a bargain & most have no idea what they are looking at and are just chancers !!
Chris.

i payed just short of 12k for my car in jan 2003 with 45k on the clock. a bargain i think, was not mint at the time and running 300 bhp....
was offerd near 30K at ford fair for it last year !!!!! (spent that much on the car now !!! ) now 52k and 450 bhp on new engine....
he was very desperate for a mint black one.
i don't know who`s nuts, the guy who offered it or me for turning it down !!!! lol

yep :
the be best one is when you get a call saying, i've got 9K will you take that for cash? errrrrm seing as 1) you've bid 3K lower than its advertised, 2) you've never seen it, 3) why ring up if you dont have enough money (you must have at least the amount i'm asking to start with, and THEN and only then can we start talking a deal, 4) what would make cash so appealing as opposed to what? groats!? fookin moorons
