Stu - do you plan on trying any more modern turbos?

I always wonder why it is so rare for people to bolt in some stae-of-art stuff into their cossies. Only BIG bhp boys do that.

Something like this: http://www.4turbo.pl/katalog/index.p...roducts_id=377 or smaller SR30 would be interesting

Anyone who is genuinely interested would be advised to have a look at their ECU and see which revision they have, this would help me decide how soon i have to figure out the software porting.

There are 3, labelled:

COSY.

The work so far has all been done on COSY.

As said Well done Stu and the team inc Will. This is Really Fantastic news for all ST owners stuck at 300ish bhp give or take a few either way. would be well happy with a reliable 350ish. time to look at the ECU for its code i think and start saving hard!

This is good news! Well done Stu, bout time people realised the EECIV is actually pretty good.

One question though, now you can work on the EECIV, does it mean you'll be looking into other cars that use it? ie the RS 2000? There would probably be a lot of interest if you were considering it.

What voltages are you seeing on the MAF and at what rpm if you don't mind divulging this information?

I am going to drive the car for a few weeks with this conversion on, there are a few bits and bobs I want to get tidied up so it looks factory, then I will stick it on the rollers to see what she does, Stu has estimated 330-340 bhp which I think is about right

I am going to give the engine a freshen up in the next few months or so, and put some brakes on that actually stop the car rarther than just making a funny burning smell then it will be back to MSD for round two, to really see what the car can do on the EEC management

Anyone who wants to have a look/ come for a blast is most welcome, as The whole point of this experiment was to get a conversion for decent power without having to retro-grade to webber, which as we all know costs a fortune and is loads of hassle......

Thanks again for your hard work Stu, those beers last week were definatly deserved
well this is ace news. I have a t28 hybrid with just mongoose, adjustable forge actuator and K&N filter. I had a t35 hybrid (not sure of exhaust housing size) equipted sapphire 4x4 before the escort and this had nowt below 3500rpm then it was like a rocket. current escort does full boost by well before 2500rpm and is really driveable/flexible and still returns 30mpg on regular use. Will this conversion loose this? Will - i only live in halesowen and would like if poss to see you car and if poss take me for a quick run in it.
Said to Matt Evans from bcrsoc that i'll be popping along to the greyhound once the shat weather gets a bit better

It sounds like your T35 had a cut back turbine wheel as a good T35 cossie is on full boost by 3500. This conversion uses the 0.48 housing, which is smaler, but once will has sorted teh pump, i will take some boost measurements so you can compare with your own cars.

Questions on fuel pumps and regulators,

Some like me will have already fitted the Bosch uprated fuel pump which I think is rated at 195 ltrs/hr, is this one ok for this conversion?

What about the fuel regulator, will this also need to be uprated?

what sort of cost would the whole thing work out to be (inc turbo, fuel pump, mapping etc etc.)
Thanks

Hard to say what we will market the software at, as the infuriating thing is, once we release it ever tw@ will copy it.

To give you an idea though, here is what you will need on your T28 EsCos.

Parts list:
55lb injectors. Ł300
Cooler plugs. Ł50
Uprated pump. Ł150.
Chip will definately unlikely be anymore than Ł500.

Then you need a:
T34.48 with -34 fitted. (We dont sell the turbo )
LT 4x4 manifold (We dont sell)

Shouldnt be too bad compared to fitting a downgrade from a sierra as you dont have to buy the:
Loom
Ecu
Sensors
HT leads
Coil etc
Distributor... (Why fit a distcap back on your great engine?)
Plenum & throttle body Etc

And you are of course gaining closed loop and wasted spark as standard, not to mention adaptive fuelling and spark control.

Another question I've thought of, what have you done about the integral dump valve on the T28?

As you have changed to the T34 turbo have you fitted one, if so what type?

A recirculating dump valve will be required, to dump air back in behind the airflow meter. I have got to fit one at some point

Just thought of something else, air filter to turbo hose, and boost hoses have you had to change any?

Also are you upgrading the rad and intercooler? I've been thinging of the RadTec version that allows you to keep the aircon, I'm old and like my comfort!!!

Yes, the air filter to turbo hose will have to be changed, as the turbo is a much larger inlet than the T28,and will require a dump valve recirculation point take off. Due to having to run a recirculating dump valve, I am going to change the throttle body to intercooler boost pipe for one with a take off as well. Rad and cooler are fine as Std, but again, an uprated Item of either never hurts if you have the cash to splash , I also want to keep my aircon, so should I feel the need to put a 500 cooler in there, I will be using one that allows the retainment of the air con rad as well

I am going to speak to Roose motorsport, to see if he is willing to develop a hose kit for this particular application

Anymore questions mate feel free to ask
