Default Esc Cos running costs

Hi,

Couldn't find anything under the search facility so I'll have to ask the question instead on here.

I'm looking into possibly getting one but would like to know the running costs first.

I've checked out the insurance and thats not a problem @ £650 fully comp but would like to know what the servicing costs are like and what the schedule of servicing is?

Also whats the fuel consumption like, I would imagine not great but what are they like on a full tank for every day use doing the run to work, a nice steady run infact (15mile run) for a standard model and for a 350bhp one.

Thanks guys for the advice in advance

hi Walter?

Thanks for the reply but how many miles due you get from your £70 and is your L reg standard or running big power. Also what type of driving due you do for the £70, town or motorway or a mixture.

Also what about servicing costs?

I can get 300 miles to a tank if around town with some spirited driving awell, 350 on a motorway run again with the odd blast.Thats on a small turbo with only filter & exhaust. They can be better if you have them chipped & setup accordingly.
The servicing is £80 for oil change @ ford up to £200 for a cam belt. The other services can be dependant on what they find wrong.Oh and its every 10k or 12mths.
Hope it helps.

Chris.

Thanks Chris for the reply.

Can you tell me how much it costs for a full tank fill up and does it hold 50litres and also as there a ten year old car is it best to fill up with super unleaded or normal unleaded?

Also do you know when the cam belt should be changed? ie miles or years?

Cheers

Graham

£50 ish depending where you go, I us BP Ultimate don't bother with Shell Vpower unless its tuned.Even normal unleaded is ok just don't give it a hard time.

Not sure on the tank size but I think its 65litres, don't run mine below 1/4 anyway as I don't want all the crap from the tank to end up in the system.

Every 5 yrs I think or 60K rings a bell, Better to do it earlier than that & do the Tensioner aswell, doesn't cost much.

Don't let people put you off the small turbo, its a great car just limited if you want to tune it, but even that can be over come.

Default running

i do about 200 miles on average mate and that usually costs me £60 -£70 but im lookin for a run about wana wrap it up for the winter if i can,its running stage 3 about 340-350bhp milage is a bit of both motorway and town.

servicing on my saff was twice a year the usuall plugs, leads, belts, oil, rotor cap and so on ,so its guna be the same with my new escos.

I find them easy to work on and fairly cheap for parts.

Go on treat yourself you will love it!!!

200 miles on average but Chris says he gets 300 in his so does that mean you drive yours pretty fast all the time or is it because yours is running 340ish and you don't need to thrash it for poor fuel consumption?

If you have that power you going to use it, thats where the fuel consumption comes in.

all filters, belts and fluids are all pretty easy to change and you need no special tools to do any of them.

i do:

1. (lube service) oil and filter every 3K = (twice a year)

2. (lube+) 1. + airfilter and plugs every other lube service (once a year)

3. (extended) 2.+ cambelt, fanbelt, fuel filter, anti freeze, brake fluid and gearbox oils every other lube+ service. (every 2 years)

i do all my own work now after spending an arm and a leg on having it all done at a main delaer on my saph - and then finding it was worth not a penny more than any other when it came to chop it in against the evo. the evo was very heavy on running costs, the cossie in comparrison is cheap, but still expensive compared to a modern run about.

As Dave has said it pays to either do it yourself if your confident enough or find someone who you trust.I was lucky that I knew the guy @ the Stealers that use to service mine so he would always do a good job.

There are plenty of specialist around that will do a better job for less that the main dealer.
