rs16i oil cap dont line up

rs16i oil cap dont line up
I have an rs16ooi rocker with the original oil cap.problem is when it is on
the fin on the top goes in the horizontal or sideways position which means it does not replicate the fins on the rocker which are vertical
as far as i can tell it is correct cap and ford stamped on back and small oil can emblem on cap.no pics at mo camera fooked.has anyone out there got any idea.cheers.

Ive seen painted RSi rocker covers go for around £70 upwards on ebay 
Ive got a nice blue one with polished lettering which i bought off a mate
cost him around £90 to get it done
