A quick question

I'm back in to the swing of things again with training & diets etc etc but my only problem is that I don't normally get home & have something to eat until 9.15 - 9.30 ish in the evening & this usually consists of jacket potato, grated cheese & either chicken or a turkey steak.

Is this too late to eat as it's very difficult for me to get a meal in before that, I also normally have a bowl of cereal or a weight gain drink that I'm taking just before I go to bed as well.

My main aim is to increase weight & well as increase strength & size and just want to making sure i'm not doing more harm than good.

In a couple of weeks i'm looking to change my routine slightly in order that I can get home a bit earlier, but just need some of the new years resolutioners to disappear before that can happen at the moment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Lee,

If you are doing intense training to gain weight, no matter what time of day you will need to feed your body, or you will have muscle breakdown from the stress you have created on the working muscles.

If you are training for size and you are having a weight gain shake, I would make it a priority to train earlier as you have already suggested you are going to do.

Then as your post work out meal have your weight gain shake when you leave the gym, that way you will be getting the fast acting proteins with in the magic window.

Then have the other meal, Jacket...Chicken/Turkey about 1.5-2 hours later and also eat well in the early hours of the day.

Hope that helps.

Ditto - don't skip a meal due to time, its better that you are uncomfortable rather than starving

superb cheers guys

As said I normally go to bed full rather than empty just saw on another post that it was better not to go to sleep on a full stomach but realised that was to do with losing weight

Thanks again gents
