Good for you mate! Only problem I can see is that the olympic weights won't work with the bare collared bars your have bought.. Providing you have enough smaller hole plates you should be hot to trot.

Well spotted that man!

I have a standard bar and lots of weight now, so decided to buy the olympic for benching, thus allowing me to use all my existing stuff with the new dumbbells and EZ bar, thus also colour coordinating my kit so its easy to spot which weight is for what when its on the plate tree...

Sounds perfect mate! As we were talking about 60kgs BD's before I just didn't want you missing it and thinking you could use the new plates.

Looks nice kit for a home gym.

Thanks mate, lets hope I get some use out of them.

I should do, I enjoy all the DB presses be them shoulder or chest etc and really do prefer dumbells for my bent over rows etc, so really needed to get some above my current 21kg max.

The Bowflex selectech really are the bollox though and I almost bought their next set up which go to 90LB but with stand it was about Ł500! LOL

Lol, you will be alright, I am a bit of a wimp like that!

I can do the controlled movements that you put yourself through in the gym but my core is weak for anything other than the fixed movements. Picking up nigh on 120kgs from the floor and laying back with it is not exactly easy or light.

There is a lad who works in our gym, Kieron and his motto is 'If you need help lifting it, it's too heavy'. Perfect saying for him, as he doesn't do weight lifting just friends with the gym owner. He's a twat.

Try the cardio mate. Ketosis maybe.
Well, I have lost over 7 KG so far, go running every night and have doubled or tripled my weights on all of my 6 split routines so I will carry on as I am as its all working just fine, but thanks for your kind input.

Every Picture? Where do you ever see picture of me on here?
Lets see pictures of you too so we all know that your qualified to give such advise.

Advice? Sounded more like a cheap dig slightly masked with the veil of advice. Hardly constructive, more like someone with a chip.

Folded arms is a defensive pose generally which may be what he's refering to, only seen maybe 3 or 4 pics like that of stu and 2 of them were on the nights out ones so hardly every pic

Still, at least he's got a top on

What, you a prude Doji or just so ashamed of your body so have to mock those that take their tops off for their hobby?

Anyway, I thought with your gay tendancies towards muscular wrestlers you would have been banging one out in this section left right and centre.

Best tell your superior brain then that the "LY" was not needed on the end of physical.

If you're going to be a smart arse about being clever at least learn to spell.

You should try more shorter, high intensity runs if you don't already + clean diet, will be better at cutting the fat.

Forums are about opinion and you don't need to prove anything in order to be allowed your view on something you read or see.

Skek's advice not only nasty, was also wrong. There is a lot of muscle on Stu' without wanting to lick arse, if he cut up he would look good. Prime example would be lee priest off season, doesn't look muscular at all. Either way, no point dieting down and then doing the weights. Start as soon as.

Tell me about it... Could do with loosing a bit myself at the moment. However, I would advise for Stu to continue doing the weights as with a good diet, he shall continue to gain muscle and strength and lose fat.

Anyone who advises not to bother with the weight-lifting, is an idiot.

Has anyone considered stu may not want to or probably have time to spend hours on a treadmill, watching his food intake like a ocd freek.

Me, naturally, i carry alot of weight, at my heaviest ive eaten everything in sight and moved some serious weight about in the gym, for instance regularly pushing 630kg leg press for decent numbers, but ive also been down to the 12%bf and looked a million times better but felt a million times worse, balancing a low carb, high protein, high cv, high intensity training program when your not competing or even that seriously into bb is hard and expensive work and some people dont want to take thing to the real next level, when everything is at it pinnacle all at the same time, diet, training, bf, stress etc.. Its fucking harder for some then others.

Stu is a thick set lad and maybe his personal/work life dictate this. Its very easy for eveyone who lives with their mums or have only minimal commitments to pull someone else on the progress of their training, maybe some tact would have been better.

do u wanna take your tongue out his now

But i do agree with u its about finding a medium between diet and training, but anyone can watch what they eat without worrying about it. I eat more meat now on my diet than i ever did when i didnt care.

All the above people were saying were to try and cut down a bit, which is good advice in my book. Like yourself i've been heavy and lifted heavy but i now much prefer the middle ground where i am now. Stu will work out where he's going in his own time but untill then keep going mate
