i weigh 100kgs and i bench 45 to 50kgs a side,,,,, my best mate who i train with also weighs 100kgs,,,,, but unlike me hes aint fat and he benchs,,,,,, wait for it

85kgs a side and can chest press with dumbells 55kgs a side,,,,, though i have to lift them onto hes chest,,,, one by one pmsl

now im doing more cardio,,,, as theres no point being a strong fat man and now i row for 5000 meters, run for 5ks and cycle for 10k's...... after that i can just about lift the tap for the water fountain

but in 6ft.not big or skinny.my mates were all on roids and i was not far from them. i was pushing 90kgs for 10 reps for 3 sets just for flat bench.

I think its worth adding reps and sets with the weight. I can lift 100kg, but train with 60kg for reps.

he is a little bit,,,, hes not as big as roid users but in saying that hes still bigger than most people NOT on roids

hes starting to get wrist problems when he does big weights now

oh and on the lat pull down machine he trains hes HUGE back,,,, and its very very big with 140kgs,,,,, thats 100 the max weight and 2 20kg dumbels as any larger fouls the wires

hes head can sometimes get as big as hes chest though at times pmsl

any reps LESS than 8 imo should not be counted as lifting,,,, tbh 10 but not everyone does sets of 10

i see blokes who try and join in to fill there ego who dont take off the weights and press with shoulders rather than arms.... as in the arms dont bend when going down and then do 5 sets... get up with the usual growls ect ect..... i laugh but that was also me a few years ago pmsl

it depends on your way of thinking , pushing yourself to failure with your last set on the max amount you could lift with probably only a couple of reps was the way i was told by a few to build quicker.

thats impressive as the last time i seen you im sure you could be used as a body double for jim galbally

gues working away from home means theres alot of "during the week tension" to get out of your system and the gym is better than looking at porntube every night perhaps

im giving it 3 months of cardio then gonna see how i get back on with the weights again as im only doing sets of 12 reps with 30 and 35kgs after the cardio then 50 laps of the pool

Gus: thats really impressive!

Ginge: Ronnie Coleman, is the most gigantic bodybuilder of all time. To be honest I doubt your mates will get to his size (with eating roids like there were smarties lol) Even Jay Cutler cant match him for size. He's a genetic freak for starters (lucky git) and lifts mind bending poundages.

Currently weigh about 85kg and bench 95kg for 3 sets of 8-10 reps on flat bench and do 45kg bells on a slight incline. my training partner weighs about 95kg and currently benches 120kg and on the bells 60's comfortably. we have slacked off a bit recently cos at his peak he was just starting to use the 70kg bells and could do 3 sets of 3 or 4 reps.
He's a fairly big lad but not in the same league as the prpoer big boys you get down the gym, he is just a natrually strong bloke.

thats what i mean when i say it depends on your point of view on this, many have told me different and i tried different ways and found the final set of heaviest weight to failure after maybe 3 or 4 reps was the best and quickest way to increase my full set of 10 rep weight. youve got to find what works for you best so you cant really say any ways wrong for sure if its working....

weights is just like bhp, take 20% off the weights for the " bullshit factor" to get the total amount of weights we all lift when ACTUALLY at the gym and not talking about it pmsl

Ginge: in relation to lifting for low reps: low reps (power moves) are only for strength not hypertrophy. I think thats what he was getting at (rather tactlessly)
But doing both is a good thing, as one helps the other

not every gyms bar weighs in at 20kgs,,, we weighed one to settle a argument,,,,, and paied for someone elses nandos that evening pmsl

my weights are just the weights,,, as in the plates and are PER side not together !!!, not even included the spring clips either

a good way to train if struggling to do lots of reps at my gym we use a big fuck off chain and hang it of each side,,,, the lower to the chest it takes some of the weight off as the chain its the floor on the way down...... helped me to lower the bigger weights to my chest and get them back up again without trying to row the bar forward on comming back up

also use the same chain when doing dips..... for no other reason than it makes you feel alot stronger than mr T and looks pukka in photos

Theres many schools of thought and as said, its down to what works. For me 5x5 worked best, did a few warm up sets before then max weight was put on and 5 sets of 5 reps at that. Definately gained most size that way. Havent been in years, I was strongest when i was 22 years, was ready to show in the local bodybuilding circuit then along came my little princess, havent had time to train since used to do 47.5kg dumbells (weighed 12 and bit stone at the time) as I never do flat bench, I train on my own so dont like the risk of having a loaded up bar right above my neck would give my right arm to get back in to it! would have to halve the weight though with only one arm
