what am i doing wrong
Basically im a lorry driver at night, and my diet just at work from 16.00 - 03.00 would consist off, 3 bottles of 500ml coca cola, 2 packets of crisps, three mars bars, and a big pack of wine gums. during the day i'd just drink coke and pig out on kitkats etc. Three months ago i thought i have to stop this or i'll have a heart attack early. Im 6''2 and 18st 9.
So for three months i have taken to work fruit, and sugar free chewing gum and orange juice. No coke what so ever (only if having a meal out) I drink lots of milk during the day semi skimmed. I havent had a packet of crisps or choclate bar for three months now.
I go to the gym probably 3 times a week and do lots of running and bike work. I do weights at home after. I weigh myself and take photo's on the 1st of every month and so far there has been no change what so ever, every one said as soon as you stop drinking coke the weight would drop off but still the same as when i started. I beginning to lose heart now
any one know what im doing wrong??

Not really , there are no gym instructors walking around, every month when i weigh myself i get excited thinking there will be lots of weight lost but nothing, maybe 2 - 3 pound. Should i stop weights all togther and just do cardio? I do tend to prefer the weights than run but i still run 2 miles 3 times a week then 30mins on the bike

If you have dropped the crap and stuck to a clean diet for 12 weeks mate aswell as cardio you should see some differance.
Do not loose heart though.... Help is all around!
I would get yout thyroid checked though, just to make sure its not that, 99.9% it wont be but just be safe and tell your GP you want a test, be firm and say you want one done as they will most prob' say no to getting it done.
Also are you on any other meds? The worst are Anti-d's. Now I know some folk have to take these if it be for anxiety or feeling crap and I know many of them work but the majority put weight on or make it very very hard to loose weight whilst on them.

honest i was thinking the same as godzuki only i don't want to worry anyone thats why i asked if there was any experts at the gym, i cut out loads of snacks and walked more like with the dog and lost nearly 2 stone, i fully expect to lose another 1 stone if i start running or cycling.

Are you pushing yourself hard enough when doing the cardio?
I see it regularly people who pound away on a cross trainer/cycle machine, but they have the settings wrong normally too easy and it doesnt get their heart rate up. I rmember one girl inparticular who was loudly talking whilst "working out" moaning about how it doesnt lose fat - she wasnt even out of breath!
When doing cardio aim for 80% of your max heart rate and keep on it. If you can get your heart rate that high you WILL start to drop fat. But take it easy and build up to the high heart rates over a few weeks - I wouldnt want you to have a heart attack!

No nothing at all just cut out 99% of crap that i ate.
When im at the gym i think i push myself i do 30 mins on the bike and i set goals to beat 13km in half an hour so i try harder to beat that next time.

mate you cant turn fat into muscle...its now accepted that a more musculer body burns more calories than one that isnt ..so to maximise loss... weights along with cardio a must ..cardio bnurns calories as you do it ..using weights means you burn calories during and after,,,if you are not noticing a lose visualy as well as weight wise then do as zilla says..also make sure your putting enough effort in the gym...; have a proper low fat breakfast hour b4 gym...also try more intense cardio start 20 mins ...then hit the weights in the gym as well...as you get used to it increase cardio ..but like sumpnut said you gotta push it and sweat..as to all the fruit and juice...just take couple pieces..,good whomeal sandwich with somthing like chicken ,tuna..maybe lowfat natural youghert that type of stuff ...cut the juice down ..drink a lot of water..above all keep at it ...it will happen..
