Are you eating enough protein?

I would say take a day or 2 off, eat well, then return. Remember, your body grows muscle when resting not when training as that is only the stimulus.

i train HARD for mon tues, do CV on wed, train hard again thurs and fri and have the weekend off.

and to those boys that say "i train 5 days and im fine i dont ache too badly"

your not training hard enough.

you should train until you physically cant do any more exercises with that muscle group.

i do 3 sets, one with 10 reps, then go a bit heavier and do one with 8, then go heavier still and do one with as many reps as i can do (usually fail at about 5)...if you are easily doing ALL reps in each set then it's not heavy enough.

you can fall into a trap of 'tricking' yourself, that when u walk in the gym you do 'just enough' and you think to yourself, aslong as ive actually done the full set then i'll eventually get bigger etc. wrong. you need to constantly be grinding your teeth and pushing yourself to the point where u fail. if you can manage a full set without failing GO HEAVIER. push push push. i trained 'wrong' for 4 years and KICK myself for wasting this precious time and money. ive gained more size/strength in one year than i have over the 4 previous years doing it wrong. i trained with a couple of big BIG lads, and made a training shedule that suited me, and it couldnt have happened soon enough.

looking back over the past 4 years, it seems i might aswell have been doing aerobics and most of the workout was on girly machines and on 'medium' weights...instead of on the free weights pushing serious weight.

BUT, then again, ity depends what you want. some lads are happy training 'wrong' and just doing it for a hobby and just want to tone up a little bit. i wanted to put my time at the gym to the best possible use and become a strong, big lad. which i have achieved. some people just like the bragging rights down the pub "i go to the gym"...what they dont realise is most people who hear that are thinking "doesnt look like it" LOL!

If you want to train every day you need to split up your work out so you dont exercise the same muscles every day. Most people problems is over training and/or poor form.
