How many times should i to go the gym for it to take effect?
Hi, Since my hip replacement i have piled on the weight. So i decided to join a proper good gym down the road from me and get healthy. My 1st plan was to go every day for 6 months and get really toned. But my dad seems to think i will just over do it and make myself worse.
How often do i need to go the gym in order to loose weight and get my body into shape... Im 19 and with the new hip i cant do weight lifting and cant put my legs above 90 degrees so the stuff i will be doing is limited.. Like tred mill, bike, Etc
If i was to go 4 days a week would this be enough? And as im only just starting how long should i spend in the gym? An hour maybe or more?
Cheers ben

It depends on how hard you push yourself in your workout. You could go every day if you wanted as i see your not lifting so shouldnt need resting time.
If you go 4 times a week and include some light weights and steady cardio and have a decent diet sorted, then that would be enough to make some decent gains/losses.
Its important not to do too much as you may get fed up and jack it all in.
If your looking for weight loss then 60-90 mins ,4 times a week would be a good place to start
