Better late than never.....New Years Resolutions started....
Right then.....when I was 16/17 before I started driving many moons ago I was well into my cycling....used to go everywhere on the damn thing! LOL! But since driving has took over my life I aint done any at all!!!
Because of my job...sitting round all day on the computer I'm not as active as I used to be & because of this the dreaded beer gut has started....
Treated myself (or rather Kaylie did) to a Saracen Full Suspension Mountain bike - got myself a few goodies for it - new ECU (lol) with heart monitor, set of HIDs (ok they are only halogen but fook me they are bright)......
Anyway....went out on my first ride last nite - 7.2miles - first half being a trail like section - with the last half being on the road. My heart rate whilst cycling ranged between 170-180bpm - my normal heart rate is about 70bps & my resting is about 60bpm!!! After coming back from the ride I did a couple of warm down slow laps of a car park until my heart rate reached about 120bpm - I gotta admit I was pretty foooked afterwards....my arse & legs where killing me & I thought I was gonna ache today!!! Surprisingly enough I dont tho - my stomach muscles seem to ache a little tho which is odd!!! When I came back from the ride I had a pint of milk & a pasta salad - not sure how long this is going to keep up but I'm gonna aim to keep at it.
I'm going to try and cycle 3-4 times a week around 7-10miles as I get better & more used to doing it. I currently weigh 11.4stone - 5ft 9, 27years old - I'm aiming to knock off a few pounds.....or at least down to a level where my belly aint there as much! Bloody beer! LOL!
So for those in the know - how unfit do I sound like I am - and how long before I start to notice a difference - both weight & being able to cycle easier!!!
Cheers guys!!

Shouldn't think you would need to loose much weight Lee, 11.4stone @ 5ft 9 doesn't sound bad at all..... especially as i'm also 5ft 9 but weigh 14 stone dead
I've heard cycling is a VERY good excercise to do as like swiming you use/work lots of muscles, so i'm sure it won't take long to get back into shape.
Keep it up

Naah - not needing to loose much at all tbh....just get rid of the excess belly that seems to of appeared over the past year.....alcohols fault!!! I wouldnt mind stayin the same weight if it meant I'd toned up a bit!!!
Did the ride again tonight....according to the computer thingamiggy I'd burned off 660 calories....whatever the fook that means!!!
