Just come back...

Was great, theyt did a 1 on 1 plan, noted our expectations, likes dislikes and fears, took height weight and bloodpressure and worked us out a plan to be reviewed in 6 - 8 weeks.

Showed us each machine in turn and made us feel pretty comfortable really. Well impressed and allready looking forward to going back.

Have decided to do the following:

Monday 1 hour at Gym.

Tuesday 1 hr swimming.

Wednesday 1 hour at Gym.

Thursday 1 hr swimming.

Friday 1 hour at Gym.

Possibly take the weekend off.. see how we feel.

Any suggestions or comments on that plan? I didnt ask the instructor chap as me and Nicole Discussed it on the way home tonight. He suggested the GYM days but doesnt know about the swimming.

I think it will be a good starting point and definately take the weekend off. Unless you have missed a workout in the week and feel like going in.
Is the pool and gym at the same place? if so be minded that you plan to be there everyday and you can fall into the trap of it getting boring just like work so you might want to take a day away during the week and add it to the weekend.

I personally train Mon, Tues, Thurs,Fri but this is all weights. I won't go on the weekend unless i miss a session in the week.

Just see how you get on. Hopefully you'll love it. If you are getting too tired then try increasing your food or take a day out during the week.

Good luck to the both of you

The Gym and swimming pool are in different places

We have joined a Government run scheme where we pay Ł56.50 per month for a joint membership and that gives us the run of the three Fylde Sports centers in our area (Within approx 7 mile radius i guess), so we can use the one in Fleetwood which has a large olympic sized pool, and the Thornton one has a good CV Gym, different again is the Poulton one which has good weights and sauna/jaccuzi, so the variety should add that little extra edge to it and keep it from getting boring quite so fast.

We can visit each facility whenever we like and as often as we like. Not a bad plan i think for the outlay, and its a monthly DD with no Tie, just 2 weeks notice required to cancel should we wish.

Thanks again for your advice.

Agree with Paul, looks like a nice plan to start with Stu and not a bad price either.

It was an electronic hand held device. Looked a little like a large playstation controller, with a digital display in teh middle, we held it in both hands whilst stood upright for around 30seconds and it started reeling off info. I presume it uses some electrical current type measurement.
