This calorie intake lark, I assume it is based on a general person in a general life?
The reason I ask is I do a very physical job so my body needs fuelling for that, needs more food and calories than the office job?
Bang me on the scales and do the size test's and apparently I am obese, my job is a 5 hour workout a day, I swim, cycle, play football and generally fitter than folks half my size, and age, how many calories does one need?

Yea lifestyle has a lot to do it, that app I'm using asks about activity and lifestyle levels and whenever you do something physical it minuses it from calorie intake. For example I was flat out in the restaurant on Mother's Day last week and it worked out that I had to take an extra 545 calories.

Yes, you will have a higher BMR than a person sat on their arse all day and so you could eat more without neccessarily gaining weight.
BMI isn't very accurate and is quite general, it doesn't really take into account muscle, BF, very short and very tall people don't fair too well with bmi either.

It's Czech Mate Thats good advice at the bottom but at the top you are wrong 1600 calories is 1600 calories, if you burn more than you eat you will lose weight unless you have discovered how to break the laws of physics

DECODING JIBBA JABBA!!
i use the fitness app as well and lost a stone and a half in 2 months, it certainly makes you realise how many calories you really were eating before monitoring it.
Gone from 15st to 13.8 and i'm aiming for 12st no rush or it will only pile back on again.
drinking plenty of water does help esp when ice cold as your body burns calories warming it up lol

Whats your calorie intake set at then? Did you find you would lose a consistently or will it start to drop off?
I bought myself a bobble bottle so I'm drinking loads of cold water, 10+ cups a day.
I have been sticking to healthy foods, lots of soup, veg an salad. Good meats like chicken and fish and I've been cutting the carbs.
Going well so far!

Well done on the weighloss mate, might want try and alter your eating times aswell, earlier main meal time gives you body a bit more time use up whats stored. As above maybe a bit of HIIT cardio, or fasted cardio
