My last gym was 250kg when fully stacked and I could do 2 sets of 15 on it without too much struggle.

You've caught him out there... Damn, how did he ever expect to get away with such a lie? If you can't do it after going the gym around twice then no-one can.

Oh, and that machine you posted was pornographic; my mum wouldn't be able to max out on it.

Depends on the machine tbh. I train legs in a couple of gyms and one I can do 400kgs + and the other its 210kgs. both machines are 45dg leg presses like pictured above.

Mind you I do presses after squats so my legs already resemble that of a new born baby giraffe taking its first steps by the time I get on the press.

Some bloody big numbers here, the machine I use has a max of 200kg which I can do 4 sets of 10.... I don't train with anyone, so shy away from the free weights section because I don't like going to the gym and not pushing myself.

Cheers,
Grant

haha yes mate if your doing squats first then leg press can be quite difficult to say the least!!

im doing my squats afterwords at the min, followed by leg extentions with really strict slow negitives, proper hardcore lol!

if your gyms leg press only goes up to 200kgs you need another gym simples

The worst is for my mate who does legs at around 160kg and everytime he goes to press, someone has been on and done around 12 plates a side. Removing these is a workout in itself.

I'm not sure what the max poundage used to be on the fixed weight squat machine at the gym I used to use. I used to rep 10-14, 4 sets with the pin in the bottom weight, and then rep 6-8 with my training partner sat on the handles. Everyone used to gather round to watch, including the bodybuilders who used to comment on how uncannily strong someone of my build and weight could possibly be. I was 11-12 stone then, and it was 25 years ago mind. I'm about 14.5 stone now and haven't been near a gym for 20 years or so. Great days back then, a good crack.

There's this twat in our gym who will take 4 plates off one side of the bench and none off the other side. He's been shouted at loads for it.

Always preferred real squatting. Seen many at my gym pressing 200kg easy who can't squat 40kg properly!! It's a very easy machine to get big weight on. Think about it, my legs carry me around all day, I weigh 110kg so with anything less than that on the press they're getting things easy

I fooking hate it when you go to the gym and there are fooking weights and dumb bells all over the place.

I hate it even more when you go into the changing rooms and the locker doors are left open.

Mine was 250 too, so took to doing it with one leg.... i'm not a big bloke, but did lots of touring fitups and getouts at the time

And as above you have to factor in that your legs should automatically be up to carrying 70+kg of human around.

fully agree with the body weight thing if say you weigh 100kg your one leg can support that weight comfortability so both legs can carry 200kg so an effective weight should be up in the 300/400kgs

As already been touched figures are meaningless without height/weight being factored in. 22yrs old, 5ft 8, 77kg (12 stone) can press 200kg for 6-8.

I at 13 stone and do 450 kg but not training as reg" as before so it's getting harder to do, but it's a proper zoo at my gym ( full of animals) and I along with another bloke spotted someone doing 820kg And there was a canadian bloke who benched 260k and he was bloody massive and he also dunbell pressed 80 kg each arm ( that's the heaviest dunbell at the gym) and before anyone says lair , get over it as there is always someone bigger and stronger than you and just because you don't know them does not mean they don't exist
