Default interval training

right is this right


i normally do a 10k run everytime on treadmil but this is getting boring


so i was thinking of running at near on flat out for 2/5 mins then jogging for same then flat out again and so on and so on


is this right?

You can run fast for 900m then jog for 200m and so on, it works. I would not reccomend doing it on a running machine though. Go for a run outside for a change, it is harder but more fun.

not running outside when i pay for a gym


i cant run outside as i cant pace myself properly

If running on treadmill ensure that you set the incline to above horizontal to mimic running outdoors.

If you have it set only to horizontal you are not moving forward as you would outdoors.

interval training is good as it shocks the body into working more efficiently. with steady running like doing 10km every time the body will adapt and become used to this. as a result you'll think you are fitter but in actual fact your all round performance will not be that good. use varied intervals to keep the body guessing and to test different muscle groups each time you train nd you'll see better results.
