what you mean work it out? just use a body composition analyser - scales you stand on bare foot that send electrical impulses through your body. fat and muscle conduct current at different rates. the scales measure the resistance.

I think I'm out of proportion :S
Last time I measured myself I was:
15st
6ft 2
13" arms
44.5" chest
... I think most of my body fat is located around my stomach, very little around my chest and other areas.
Boots does have a machine that uses all sorts of magic to give measurements.

Doing well Rad. Nothing like progress to motivate you!
Unfortunately I am the opposite. Stuck in a rut. This time last year I was 235lbs & benching 150kgs. Now I am down to 212lbs and struggling to bench 120kgs. Its due to different things like being ill etc but its hard to get out of the feeling down stage and turning it into a positive so that I can get it all back.
I spose what I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is keep it up mate!

I've seen your pics thread, from that and your measurements/weight etc, i'd say you were about 14%, which is good.

Whats a good % to have??? You say I 'look' 14%, but for my size, should I be less?

I can't really say if you should be less or not as i don't know your aims...
but assuming you're aiming to get 'bigger', 14'ish (or whatever your bf is) is absolutely fine .
If you're trying to get good abs, then from experience (experience of trying to get them, not actually having them ), i'd say you want to aim for 10%.
You look like you're coming on well, keep up the good work .

Cheers for the info mate, Appreciated
Stomach - Not to bothered if I get good abs that are visable, But I train them hard anyway, so will see what comes of it, but thats not my main aim
My main aim is fucking big bi's, tri's,forearms, chest and shoulders
18" arms and everything equally matched would be nice!

Elite footballers - 12%
Elite rugby union - 12-14%
Elite distance runner - 10%
Pro bodybuilder - <10%
These are general values, bearing in mind you can get distance runners with body fat% well below 10. An unhealthy value for a male is about <5%, a typical range for an active male is 14-17%.
If your looking to get a visible '6 pack', your probably looking at aiming for a body fat percentage of around 12%.
I would not use the bioelectrical devices sold at boots etc, they are renowned for giving unvalid results. Body fat calipers are the best, and most accurate way (with exception of expensive equipment), although for accurate results the measurements have to be taken by someone who is skilled in using them.
