Am i right in thinking this.........
That when your muscles ache or feel sore its a good thing because it means there growing/increasing in size?
Just that at work sometimes i lift heavy things, yesterday was one of those days where i had to do some really heavy lifting for an hour and the following day i woke up and from my biceps all the way up into my shoulder and accross the front of my chest(pecs) felt sore and when i touch or squeeze it feels as if there bruised kinda thing........
So yeah my question is................ is that a good thing?

it's a combination of lactic acid and super-compensation
the lactic acid is produced during exercise, this creates an uncomfortable burning sensation.
super-comp. is when the muscle fibres have torn as a result of exercise and the body creates new fibres to make up for the damaged ones
once these have healed you ultimately end up with twice as many fibres.
