What Can i do to loose weight? Weak hips, Bones etc.
Basicly, There's not many things i can do, I've got Brittle bones and my hips are weak, I can't even walk around asda without leaning on a trolley. Now i bought a Mountain bike because sat down on that means no weight on my hips and i can ride along just fine. I started off on it Very uncomfy and my arse hurt and after 10 seconds i was poofed. Now my bike cost me lots of money as i thought 'If i'm gonna buy one i'll buy a decent one' As i'm a big lad and with me having brittle bone i dont want to be riding a cheap tacky bike. Having such a nice bike encouraged me to get on it more. Come the end of the summer i had been on it nearly every day for a nice ride and lost ALOT of weight. I could ride for 5 miles at 25mph Without stopping.
This was good for me, I have a faulse hip, And a very weak hip and i knew with the way my bones are if i fell of i would probably do serious long term damage to my body. Now the summer has ended and it's always raining etc Riding wasn't an option as i felt it was daft, As if i was to fall off i would be back to square one. Soi haven't riden for a few months and as you probably guessed all the weight I've lost i'm putting back on.
What else would you recommend, Cheers benni.
I'm not allowed to lift weights, Or lift my legs above 90 Degrees.

Also, Canclled my Gym and am going to join the Gym my friend Sarah is at, It's just as good and i feel i will work out more with someone to go with. I know it sounds stupid but is that a good idea or bad?
Also, Is swimming good for loosing weight? I enjoy it and surely this is good excersize without putting strain on my legs??
Cheers for any help, It's really appreciated alot.

you basically need to do very low impact training, the bikes a good start but you can use the ones they have at the gym also, so at least you can keep that up in the winter months, you could also try getting a 4 wheel based trike if that makes you feel any safer.
swimming is perfect for the sort of training you want to do, as their is no impact on the joints at all and will also help with lung capacity, which will come in handy for you long bike rides.
its always good to have a gym partner as you can puish each other along, but sometimes it can hold you up from doing your work out but its a small price to pay for a bit of company while training.
wasn't you refered to a physiotherapist? as they will give you loads of exercises and tips on the right food and suppliments to take to help devolope the muscles and tendons around the weak areas.

Swimming is very good for loosing weight, and is really a low impact exercise, so not too much strain on joints and muscle groups. Im not sure which stroke it is, but one of them (it may be all of them, im not sure) uses all of the muscles in the body so in effect you are doing a full body workout, but not at high intensity. You will burn the calories, but not feel achy or sore afterwards if you take it at a moderate pace. Ive upped my intensity in the pool and i really am a shit swimmer, but the results are worth it Good luck mate
