When ever i do cardio its on the tred mill my heart rate is normaly around 180bpm i am looking to lower body fat and not loss muscle or atleast lose as little muscle as possible but from reading some of the treads on this forum i think im going the wrong way about it also im 22 years old could anyone kindly point me in the right dirrection, last night at the gym i used the the bike for an hour and kept my hr at 130bpm and it felt like i could go on for hours and i only started to sweat a little around 50mins into the session surely i cant be lossing much fat this way?

@ zaki

220 minus your age multiplicated with 60 % and 70% is your opt. heartrate for fatburning. In your case is it:
220-22=198x60%=118,8; 198x70%=138,6
So between 120 and 140 you can burn fat like hell. But don't fall under 120 because this is a totally waste of time and don't go over 140 because there your body is burning more carbohydrates than bodyfat.
Do a minimum of half an hour cardio and never more than an hour, this spares your muscles and makes out of your body a fatburning machine.
