Hi all
Hi all, i thought this is the most appropriate place to post this, but does anyone suffer from M.E? The reason i ask is because i have been diagnosed with it. cheers from Tom.

I had it for years, but it leaves me alone now, thank fook...
I'm off to the pub, a friend of mine's currently dealing with it to a decent level, I'll find out more if you like?
Don't go to the bloody 'ME Group' meetings either. Just a bunch of people feeling sorry for themselves... It's beatable, and the main step is not to let it drag you down

Hi, thanks for the replys, i have had it since round about august last year and can't seem to shake it off, it really drags you down, and when you wake up in the morning you just feel the same and it hasn't gone away. I am 15, so it has really affected my social life, but i won't go on to much, so has anyone got any info or any experiences of it? Cheers in advance

I went to the docs a few months ago, i had all the symptons of M.E, but the doctor i had didnt believe in it.. apparently some doctors dont an he just associated it with my depression.. the poo head!
Now, i'm at dietician they think i have "dumping syndrome"
Which basically means, when i eat food i produce to much glucose an it causes me to go all funny like im drunk
I wake up every morning feelin like i have a hang over, n when i get out of bed.. Im shattered after somethin like half an hour
I'm sorry you have it must be awful i know i hated feeling the way i did.
Is there any kind of treatment for it? When read up about it, it just said lots of rest.. am i getting confuddled again?

Tom, trust me. I had to deal with this, and I am a recorded patient, and one of the few (at the time, 1 of 7 iirc) who's beaten it. You CANNOT let it drag you down.
Go for a walk, keep yourself active. Even though it's crap to drag yourself up, do it. If you sit there with the same four walls, it'll drive you nuts and help no-one. Don't waste your time, if you're that screwed you can't move, read something, do something, don't just hang around watching This Morning on the sofa, it only makes it worse.
Speak to a guy called Ray Perrin, an osteopath who works out of Prestwich, Manchester. http://www.forme-cfs.co.uk/research.html . He is the bollocks, and I owe him a lot.
8 years ago, I physically could not move some days. I had no energy, no strength, despite a decent diet and environment. Now I do kickboxing 5 days a week, belted in four styles of Martial Arts, competion as well, and I've run half-marathons.
Gem, CFS/ME is now medically recognised, gone are the days that they'll fuck you off. If you feel that strongly, seek a second opinion.

I'm at the dietcian this week so i'll see how that goes then might try again at the doc's.. just praying i wont get the same doctor! I had to get a sick note of him as id just had surgery, n had a infection which the hospital thought could of been mrsa and he turned round having a go at me saying he'd never had a day of sick in his life an if i was his child he'd make me go work.
Im sorry but i was a auxillary nurse at the time in a old ppl's home, god knows what could of happened to them if i want in
I'm really glad you have got it under control

Thanks guys for the feedback, luckily i have got a good doctor now but the first one i went to see wanted to put me on anti-depressants but he didn't even have the guts to tell me he just told my mum the next day via the phone, i felt so mad, i told him clearly and precisely how i felt and he asked if i was dipressed in anyway and i said no, but just a bit because i didn't know what was going on with my body. But luckily now i have got a really sympathetic doctor who is not stuck up is own ass.

Taking specialised fish oil supplements, which are rich in the fatty acid EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) ought to correct the chemical imbalance, the researchers say.
