Is there a fiesta Rs 1800i database on the site ????

I was wondering if there was a database for Fiesta RS 1800i. I have recently bought one and was wondering if there are many left considering there wasnt many made. Can anyone help ???

G808 EVW

The Fiesta RS Turbo registered as G808EVW is a very special machine indeed. It's the car that Ford provided to Autocar and Motor magazine for the long-term test which started with the roadtest that appeared back in the spring of 1990.

To make sure that this car didn't disappoint against the Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9, which was wiping the floor with all other hot hatches at the time, the car that Ford delivered to Autocar was, ahem, optimized. At the Bruntingthorpe proving ground it posted a set of performance figures that nobody could believe - nosing ahead of the all-conquering 205 GTi.

Turned out that the turbo boost was turned up to around the max - I understand there are min/max settings. Would love to know if G808 made it past 75k miles without the turbo falling apart!

For a while the car was my daily hack and a couple of things are memorable - first the turbo-boost kicking in. Goodness, there was a delay. But wow, when it arrived - the RA would shimmy forwards like there was no tomorrow. Overtaking was a snap.

The second strong memory is the dicky fuel gauge, which would slowly drop to half full, then plummet towards empty faster than the turbo boost. Almost caught me out a few times...

I also once experienced an interesting real-world head-to-head with a 205 GTi 1.9 driver (red of course) on the M3 ... he could not believe that his passion wagon couldn't keep up ... all the way to something highly illegal...

This was my fiesta RST, back in 2005. it had a 2ltr ZVH, T3 etc etc. would love to know if its still around although it doesnt seem to have been taxed since 2008.

Owned J98 RFL a few years back which was silver. Last I heard it was being rebuilt in Aberdeenshire.

That was it's original plate afaik. Any link between it and the black one J96 RFL??

couldnt say mate, on dvla website one is silver one is black, silver one ran out of tax march 09, black one is taxed will august 10
they both have the same reg date, of 28 01 1992
