Default Machine polishing

Hi people.

What polishing pads and polish do you all use when using a machine polisher on your cars.

I want some polish that will help to get swirl marks out and freshen up the paint work.

That's still the best for me for general maintenance.

If you need to go a little more hardcore, the 3M system is still the best for heavy correction.

Menzerna pads and polishes here too although I've just bought some of the new dodo pads as they look interesting and will be trying them out soon.

Menzerna are quite agressive as you go up to compounding. Glenn try a link if you wish . http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=63859

or you can use the rotary guide. both very good info .
I would probably go with something like 3M yellow bottle and finish with ultrafina blue bottle on your car. Polish is important but they all do the same thing in different ways and have certain characteristics one would choose over another for various reasons. Get some before and afters up glenn

Top info people. I will have to post a pic of the polisher. Its a proper bodyshop one. The pads I have screw onto the polisher.

I'm still using my meguiars stuff that came with the G220 polisher as a package. Been using it for a while and going to move up to some new products and a different buffer to see what difference it makes. Picture is after about 4/5 coats of different grades, When on to do another 3 i think but dont have pictures.

I yous a Meguiars G220 which is a dual Action so it moves around more and doesnt stay in 1 spot. Read that it is harder to damage paint work then a standard orbital as it doesnt heat up and cut in 1 place. Thats what i read, wanted to practice before i move into the big league and i think i'll get a orbital next and some old body parts to practice on. Belive the orbital takes less work to get the same finish but have to practice with it to get use to it.

To be honest it's sat in a cupboard untouched as I haven't got a da yet, if it's push I might give it a miss but I could still use the pads

Was half price on amazon so couldn't turn it down

DA's are fairly idiot proof, next to no risk of burning your paintwork, it's very easy to burn paint if you don't know what you're doing with a rotary.

Very reason i started with the DA, i would recommend it to anyone looking to start into paint correction on a personal level. Takes a while longer but less risk. Want to move up to an orbital but again, will have practice panels before letting loose on my cars.
