Default New Gaming PC + Assetto Corsa

Anyone on else playing it?

Just put a little gaming rig together so thought I would give it a proper go now tried it a little before on a different PC, great Sim doesn't look as good as other game but plays pretty well, currently using the DS4 pad from the PS4 which isn't ideal but going to be using the G27 after tomorrow.

Still need a few more bits for the PC but it's currently -

AMD FX 4130 5.0GHZ ( overclocked )
4GB DDR 1600mhz ( needs upgrading )
2 x 280X running crossfire
Corsair CX750M PSU
Roccat Kova+ mouse
Sennheiser 555's Headphones

need a decent monitor thinking of this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=17&catid=510

I was always curious with Assetto Corsa. However I'm holding out for Project CARS.

I'm curious, on two things.
How have you got the CPU to 5ghz stable?
Also, do you not find it bottlenecking the 280x's?

I think AC is regarded as the better Sim now since PCars went for console.

Had a look around the net at some of the results people were getting and just started clocking it, it's so much easier these days then when I was doing it years back, went straight in at 4.6ghz from 3.6 and worked my way up stress testing it.

I'm sure the CPU will be bottlenecking the cards to what degree I'm not to sure or that fussed, it was only put together from spare parts and it's doing the job at the moment, can run CSGO @ 240fps and it's running AC now on Ultra settings @ 90-100fps

Need to mod the desk now so that the G27 will clamp on right as the desk is to thick

couple more

It's no Driveclub for the visuals but for a game that's not really know for it's graphics and all about it's gameplay it doesn't look that bad imo

Its damn good results. Although I'm not to familiar with AMD so I'm not up on their potential.
I recently clocked my i5 and that was a bit of a hassle due to intels speed stepping and me not wanting to run max voltage when at idle.

Well at those Framerates I guess it doesnt really matter.

Just ordered one of these - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-118-IY&tool=3

Also added a 1TB SSHD and 8GB 1866MHz FuryX to it.

So much for not upgrading so much of it...

I love AC, its an awesome game, you downloaded the RS500 yet? Racedepartment have loads of tracks mods and cars to down loads.

Play a lot of onlne Simracing and love AC. Visually its good but the game play is brilliant and the online is great to. The developers really listen to the community and do loads of work with them. The Selby Cobra was actually a car down by a fan and bought by the AC development team as they were so happy with it!

Have the 27inch version of that monitor (not the 144hz mind) i was a little worried about the company but friends who work for EA swear by them so took the punt and bought 3 and they have been brilliant.

I haven't touched the racing games much tbh, I can't get off CSGO atm ( the reason for the 144hz monitor ) but I'm sure it will wear off soon so will give them another shot

I was just reading a write up on Project cars and found a crazy article on their website.

The game runs 600 processes a second for the physics. It features 3 seperate physics engines for the tyres.

That's going to require a rather serious system to run that then! It's time to upgrade for me but I can see this costing me over 2k!!

I keep building computer specs on Overclockers. It wont be long before i've clicked the buy option! Want to build it all in a desk so need to get all the parts together.

My PC is out of date but i'm getting 40fps ish on triple monitor (27inch albeit not on high settings) setup so not to bad. Going to drop it down to 1 monitor and see how it fairs.

it's only a AMD FX4130 running 4.8ghz but only takes a minute or so for the fan to be at 100% where as none of the other games hardly touch it

Thats not far off their recommended specs. Esspecially with the 4.8 ghz.

Maybe the full release will be better optimized.

I'm running i5 twin GTX660 sli'd and 16gb of ram and it struggles with the triple screen. Going to try tonight with single screen and should be better.

either of you played it online yet? They need to sort out little bits and bobs but its pretty good.

Had a play around last night with the settings and things on the PC and in game. Found that if you turn of the additional settings (guessing let the game decide them) you can have a good quality but still return frame rates up in the 70/80's. Didnt know about this so will post a couple of pictures tonight or tomorrow on what I did if anyones interested. Also messed about with the triple screen app in game and its made the game soo much better to play.

Isnt Forza quite arcadey? Looks like good graphics and some awesome cars on the list. Not sure on Gameplay style. AC is 100% sim racing, the Kunos team behind it i believe do the software for the top F1 team simulators if what i read was right.

Arcade game i've always liked TDU2 and its setup.

On PC you are out of luck.

The only thing that comes close to Forza Horizon 2 is Test drive unlimited 2. Which has the big open world map, yet its lacking in cars/tuning and the driving physics are pretty awful.

Turn 10 have been evasive when questioned about the rumours of a forza game on the PC (interpret that how you like). However, horizon is made by a different company.

This is a downloadable car and track and really good to drive. Can get it in the normal RS500 and the GPA car with all the liveries like Listererne and Dick Johnson shell ones.

If you're into hot lapping check out the RSR live timing app for AC
track/car leader board with in game info so you know how far off you are from the next best time, it has really changed the game for me.
