It is with a heavy heart that I am selling my 1979 Mk2 Escort Sport, genuine reason for sale. This is a ex Classic Ford feature car and has most likely been seen at various shows. I politely ask for no 'its not worth that' etc, its worth what someone is willing to pay. Also please genuine enquiries please, many thanks. This is a great example which has been built to a very high standard.


If your looking for a special Escort then you have found it. The car is a South African import, this has the RS strength areas as standard and a long range fuel tank. ( has all the documentation ). It has been built to a very high standard by a father and son, took about a year to complete, no expense spared to make this a stunning Escort. Kept in it's original shade of Ford Bermuda Blue, all panels are original. The car is fitted with alloy tarmac arches, front and rear spoilers which are blended into the bodywork, rally mud flaps. Spec as follows-
Engine-built by Scholar engines, 1700 X flow, 1300cc pistons, lightend and balanced crank, ported and polished race head, Kent 234 cam, twin Weber 40 carbs, Ashly full exhaust system, alloy rad, oil catch tank, Samco hoses. Dyno from April 2015 was 115.4 BHP. Car has covered 81,000 miles

Brakes- Wilwood 4 pot and vented discs up front & 9" drums rear. bias pedal box

Wheels-8x13" Minilites with very good Toyo tyres

Suspension-adjustable front coil overs and lowered 2" at the rear with Gaz shocks

Gearbox / Axel- standard 4 speed manual & axel

Interior- stripped rear with fire wall, black carpet to front, German RS2000 roll cage, cobra bucket seats, Omp deep dish steering wheel, Omp harnesses, alloy centre console with switches & water temp gauge, auto rad fan and manual control.

4 Cibie spot lamps which can be removed easily.

In the last 12 months it's had the carbs set up with rolling road, new fuel pump, new plugs, oil and filter change, high torque starter motor and battery.

I have stacks of paper work, bills & receipts for the many parts, also comes with a large photo album of the complete build, featured in Classic Ford magazine.
So, to sum up, this is a stunning example of the Mk2 Escort, and keeps to the old Skool tuning, nice to see one with it's original X flow engine etc.
