My Mondeo ST220 SOLD
Ford Mondeo ST220 2002 52 plate in Stardust Silver. SOLD
I bought this car from a user of a different forum a while back as it has full red leather in excellent condition. When I got it I couldn’t bring myself to remove the leather for my ST TDCI it as it was originally specced this way and a really nice original car.
It’s done about 140k, but please don’t let that put you off, because honestly I think you’ll be missing out if you do in this instance. The car is HPI clear and I think I’m the 5th owner.
Anyway, I’ve fitted a brand new Miltek cat back exhaust to it, and a brand new K&N 57i kit under the bonnet.
I’ve had the wheels professionally refurbished in gunmetal grey (and they really do look brand new), I’ve had 2 new Continental tyres fitted to the front, so it’s now running Continentals on all 4 corners. I’ve replaced the original space saver with a full sized alloy and tyre (although this one is the original silver). I've bought and fitted new jacking point covers all round too.
I’ve replaced all disks and pads all round with new Mintex ones. I even replaced the faded ST220 badge with a new one. Also, all wiper blades have been replaced with Bosch Aero ones.
On the interior I’ve fitted a single din Kenwood Bluetooth stereo with extended USB into the adapter panel, a brand new genuine leather gearknob with red stitching, a red gearlever gater and red mats all round. As previously said the red leather is all in excellent condition.
The car was Mot’d a few weeks ago and had 2 new front springs and two new front brake pipes. The only advisory on the Mot certificate is the battery light being on intermittently (although more often than not as far as I can see, which was diagnosed as erratic charge from the alternator). I am going to get this sorted before it’s sold, so this won’t be an issue.
I’ve been driving the car around and it drives spot on, and the combination of the K&N filter under the bonnet and the Miltek sounds lovely, and the twin pipes look fantastic too.
The only thing I would note is a bit of minor rust on the bottom of the passenger doors, but I can honestly say you can basically just take this car and use it straight away without spending anything on it, as far as I know it needs nothing at this present moment (and how many cars can you say that about!).
I want £1900 for the car, and I know you can buy cheaper, but I really don’t think you’ll buy a better car without having to spend a lot of money on it to get it to the condition of mine. Basically I’ve spent the money so you don’t have to. It even DOES NOT suffer with the dreaded rear bumper droop that most have, even my ST TDCI can’t say that!
I’d welcome any comments at all, and any serious enquiries. But I won’t welcome anyone just wanting to come round for a joyride. If you want to come round for a chat I don’t have issues with that, but unless you are serious about buying it you won’t be driving the car. Let me just repeat that, no joyriders or people just looking to drive a fast car on a Sunday afternoon. And if I see a car full to busting with lads I won't even bother answering the door. Been there before too many times. Ps I live just outside Lincoln. I guess I’d better put that in. Lol.
So basically you've got a lovely car with full Mot, lots of nice mods and rarer red leather, that can be used straight away without flinging loads of money at it.
Anyway, here’s some pics. I’ve just noticed I haven’t got any under bonnet shots, so if it’s a decent day tomorrow I’ll get a couple.

If anyone wants to ask anything about the car or just chat about them just give me a shout. I'm quite happy just to chat, no obligation at all. I'm not in need of the cash these days, but it does seem a shame such a nice car just sitting.
What I would say is currently the alternator needs fixing or replacing which I haven't got round to yet, but if anyone wants to take it as is and do it yourself I can offer it at less money than advertised here.
For info, the refurb on the wheels (which was a proper acid dip refurb, not just a quick rub down and flash over), and two new Continental tyres cost me over £560, the exhaust cost me £500 and it needed two front springs and brake pipes for it's test which came to just under £500 including the test, and it's not done anything since then. So it's had a lot spent on it which I won't get back. But that means that whoever buys it will get a really nice car at what I consider a bargain price. It owes me just about double the asking price.
Anyway, anyone interested let me know. But no idiots please, as I think I've said there will be no joyrides, I'd rather it just sat here forever than go through that.

PS If anyone wants the refurbed alloys for £600 collected from Lincoln I've got another rougher set I can put on the car to sell it with. The refurbed wheels are stunning, they are just like brand new now. I had them done by a proper shop because I bought a set a while back and they hadn't been done properly. These look gorgeous in gunmetal, everyone that's seen them loves them and they've all got Continentals on, two of which I bought brand new when they had the refurb. I talked to a few shops before I had these done, and I can honestly say you won't get a better job done anywhere.
No offers at this price, because the refurb and two new tyres cost £560, with receipt, so the four alloys are £40!
Don't compare these to a cheap refurb, these will make any car look fantastic!
